Ode to Anna

A spirit as free as the wind

As loud as the waves

As pure as the snow

An energy that explodes

With laughter and warmth

Even when there is

No warmth to be found

A heart as vast as the snowy wilderness

Of Antarctica

And the steaming wilderness

Of the desert dunes

Setting out on a voyage

To the edge of the world

Witnessing the infinite

Wonders of the earth

Where nature rules

In a silence broken only

By winds that whisper

Or howl

Where time can stand still

Even for a moment

For a moment

Before moving on

To race the city streets

To escape concrete jungles

And return to the wild

For a moment

To just be still.
